Lutein is a fat-soluble pigment belonging to the family of carotenoids. There are more than 600

luteins (xanthophylls, such as lutein and zeaxanthin). Since lutein biosynthesis occurs only in plants,

Studies have shown that for every 10% increase in dietary lutein intake, serum lutein concentrations
